What is funny, is I was the original choice to illustrate the "O. O. Ocyopus" book you see here, but was so busy, I had to turn it down. A bit of trivia here!

It's true. Soon after my wife and I had our book "Joy the Jellyfish" published by Dragonfly Publishing, the publisher, Pat Gaines, who also had an "undersea" story, and liked my art in our book, approached me as asked me to illustrate "O. O. Octopus." I turned it down because I was busy, but also because I had just illustrated an entire book (written by wife Kristen) featuring marine creatures, and I simply didn't want to hop right into another one. So, I was their first choice to illustrate this book. When I turned it down, Pat approached David Simon, who took the project.
