“The only reason she stopped getting married was because Texas stopped issuing her marriage licenses,” Connie announced boldly, to no one in particular.
Her attitude was quickly moving south, and we weren’t talking Texas. Being the daughter-in-law of the notorious Meg Whatever-her-name-was-this-month probably wasn’t the easiest job in the world, but Connie more often than not managed the position with some kind of humor. Today would be no different, dark humor is still humor.
